Recycling 2.0: Purpose and Planet at St. Peter’s

Your recycling can now help Saint Peter’s plant the seeds for creating a Memorial Garden.  Saint Peter's has joined TerraCycle, whose purpose is to eliminate waste.  They accomplish this goal by creating national recycling systems for previously non-recyclable or hard-to-recycle waste.  Then they reuse the items in other products. TerraCycle works with thousands of community organizations for greater environmental impact.

How do you get people to go one step further than curbside recycling?  You pay them!! TerraCycle pays roughly 2¢ per item collected.  Saint Peter’s has joined TerraCycle and collectively, we will play a role in stewarding the environment and taking care of God’s creation.  Money raised from our efforts will go toward a Memorial Garden, which is part of our parish long-term plan.

Here’s how you can participate.  Print out the list below and post it on the refrigerator.  Similar items are grouped under “brigades.”  These are the items that should be saved.  Have your kids help you with this!  Then, when you come for services, drop the items off in the collection bins located on the lower level behind the staircase.
